Dear Ward 7 Neighbours,

My name is Scott Xie, and I have had the privilege of serving as your Oakville Ward 7 Town Councillor for the past four years.

​

Over the past several weeks, through neighbourhood visits, community discussions, and conversations with residents, I have heard many thoughtful perspectives, concerns, and suggestions. Some residents have expressed appreciation for the progress our community has made, while others have raised important questions about traffic, development, public services, and property taxes.

​

I value all of this feedback, and I take your concerns seriously.

​

These conversations have also reminded me that many residents may not know much about my work over the past four years or what I hope to accomplish in the next four.

​

That is why I would like to take this opportunity to share my record of service, explain my priorities, and outline my vision for Ward 7's future.

​

When you placed your trust in me in 2022, I made a commitment to listen, represent your interests, and work hard to deliver meaningful results.

​

Throughout my first term, I have worked to bring residents' concerns to Council, collaborate with Town staff and community partners, and follow through on issues that matter to our neighbourhoods. From major community facilities and road safety improvements to public transit and smaller everyday concerns, my focus has always been on making a practical difference in residents' lives.

​

None of these achievements would have been possible without the collaboration of my Council colleagues, Town staff, community partners, and, most importantly, engaged residents like you.

I also recognize that many challenges remain. Some issues are complex and require sustained effort, cooperation across different levels of government, and a willingness to explore practical solutions.

I believe a councillor's responsibility goes beyond listening. It means taking action, following through, and being accountable for results.

Looking ahead, North Oakville will continue to grow, bringing both opportunities and challenges. My commitment is to ensure that Ward 7 grows responsibly while remaining safe, connected, welcoming, and a great place to call home.
