Dr. Scott Xie was elected Oakville Town Councillor for Ward 7 in 2022. A North Oakville resident since 2014, Scott and his wife Kera have raised their two daughters in the community they proudly call home.

Over the past four years, Scott has worked closely with residents, listening to their concerns, understanding their priorities, and turning community needs into action. As Councillor, he has built the experience and relationships needed to get things done at Town Hall and has established a proven record of delivering results for Ward 7.

​

Scott has been actively involved in the Town’s Budget Committee and Appeals Committee and serves as Chair of the Oakville Santa Claus Parade Committee, supporting one of Oakville’s largest outdoor community events.

​

He has been a strong champion for seniors and youth, better public transit, safer and more connected neighbourhoods, and an inclusive community where everyone has a sense of belonging.

​

Before entering public office, Scott built more than 25 years of professional and leadership experience in executive education, global learning, strategic management, and professional development. He held leadership positions at a top Canadian university and has extensive experience in international partnerships, business development, and program management. He is also an entrepreneur and an active community leader.

Scott has a long-standing commitment to community service. His contributions have been recognized with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Community Service Award.

He obtained his Doctor of Business Administration degree from Henley Business School at the University of Reading, UK, in collaboration with the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
